Hommage Jacques Perrin Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Dark, glowing fruit and floral perfume meet a cool, stony edge in the 2021 Chateau de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin, a poised, Mourvèdre-driven Châteauneuf that layers blackberry, elderberry, lavender, spice and a touch of game over a long, refined finish. The challenging year has yielded something almost Burgundian in shape here: concentrated yet lifted, with velvety but insistent tannins that promise a long, graceful evolution rather than sheer brute force.

About Hommage Jacques Perrin Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Hommage à Jacques Perrin is Château de Beaucastel’s ultra‑prestige Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape, created in tribute to Jacques Perrin and produced only in top vintages from very old, organically farmed vines on Beaucastel’s classic galet-strewn northern terroir. Dominated by Mourvèdre (around 60%, with Grenache and Syrah making up most of the balance), it is a powerful yet refined red noted for its dark fruit, spice and gamey complexity, remarkable depth and structure, and an extraordinary capacity to age for decades.
