Brunello di Montalcino Filo di Seta 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

Darkly seductive yet finely detailed, the 2019 Castello Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino Filo di Seta layers ripe black and red berries with cool minty herbs, violet and a stony, damp-earth edge. The palate is plush and almost creamy but driven by vibrant acidity, with focused minerality and firm, polished tannins carrying notes of cranberry, blood orange and spice into a long, mouthwatering finish. This is a powerful but impeccably balanced Filo di Seta that clearly reflects the class of the vintage and is built for a graceful, extended evolution.

About Brunello di Montalcino Filo di Seta

Filo di Seta is Castello Romitorio’s site-selection Brunello di Montalcino—made from old Sangiovese vines on the cooler, north‑west slopes of the estate where darker, slate‑rich soils yield a riper, more concentrated style. Named for a small creek on the hill and bearing Sandro Chia artwork, the wine is hand‑sorted, undergoes extended maceration and substantial oak aging (roughly 24–30 months), and shows a signature mix of polished red and black cherry, violet and floral notes, medicinal herbs and smoky mineral depth framed by fine, silky tanni…
