Castello dei Rampolla Liù Merlot 2021 comes across as a dark, focused expression of Panzano, with saturated blue and black fruits wrapped in sleek, precise tannins. Subtle notes of spice, dried herbs, graphite and cool menthol glide through the mid-weight palate, giving tension and lift to the wine’s impressive depth. The finish is long, refined and already silky, but clearly built to gain complexity with time in bottle.
