Perfumed and vivid, Castellare’s 2022 Chianti Classico Riserva layers violets and wild berries with a lift of citrus and Mediterranean herbs, before spreading into a core of juicy black cherry. The medium-bodied frame is sleek yet flavorful, with silky but present tannins, lively acidity and a subtle touch of spice and cedar from used barrique aging, finishing with a gentle orange-zest snap. This is a polished, expressive Riserva that already drinks beautifully but has the stuffing to gain complexity in bottle.
