Barbaresco Rabaja 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Silky at first sip yet powered by a deep, radiant core of Nebbiolo fruit, the 2020 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Rabajà layers wild strawberry, plum and blood orange with hints of herbal lift and stony earth. The palate is full and compact, with very fine, tightly knit tannins that feel almost invisible beneath the purity and precision of the fruit, leading to a long, driven finish that promises remarkable complexity with time. A thrilling, beautifully composed Rabajà that shows both emotion and discipline in this small-production vintage.

About Barbaresco Rabaja

Bruno Giacosa’s Barbaresco Rabajà is a single‑vineyard Nebbiolo from the celebrated Rabajà slope in Barbaresco, planted on calcareous‑clay soils that give the wine strong structure and a stony, saline minerality. It’s typically concentrated and tannic—more Barolo‑like in backbone than many Barbarescos—while remaining fragrantly Nebbiolo with rose and violet florals, bright red fruit, spice and long persistence after careful barrel aging.
