Barbaresco Asili 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

Bruno Giacosa’s 2022 Barbaresco Asili is taut and refined, with lifted red berry and cherry fruit framed by firm, chalk-dry tannins and a vibrant, airy feel on the palate. Floral notes of violet and subtle blue-toned flowers emerge with air, hinting at the layered elegance that further bottle age will reveal. This vintage shows Asili’s precision and energy more than opulence, promising greater complexity for those willing to wait.

About Barbaresco Asili

Bruno Giacosa’s Barbaresco Asili is a single‑vineyard Nebbiolo drawn from the famous Asili cru in the heart of Barbaresco (south–southwest exposures on calcareous‑clay with sandy veins), a small holding Giacosa purchased and vinifies selectively. It is known for a floral, red‑fruit profile (roses, raspberry, blood orange) framed by silky, refined tannins and stony minerality, typically matured in large French oak casks and released only in top years as either a standard Barbaresco or a longer‑aged Riserva.
