Seductive and powerful, Bruno Giacosa’s 2011 Barbaresco Asili Riserva layers rose petal, cherry and raspberry with darker tones of cassis, licorice, tar and a touch of smoke. The palate is full-bodied yet extremely refined, with silky texture, sappy depth of fruit and finely etched tannins that drive a very long, resonant finish. A particularly opulent and expressive Asili that still retains impeccable balance and lift.
Braised veal shank (ossobuco); Porcini mushroom risotto; Aged Parmigiano Reggiano

Bruno Giacosa’s Barbaresco Asili Riserva is a single‑vineyard Nebbiolo from the famed Asili cru in Barbaresco, produced only in exceptional years and labelled as a Riserva; it’s celebrated for an ethereal, rose‑and‑red‑fruit perfume, silkily integrated tannins and a long, mineral finish. Vinified with traditional methods and matured mainly in large French oak botti, the wine reflects Asili’s calcareous‑clay/sandy soils and south–southwest exposures, combining perfume and finesse with the structure to age for decades.
