About Cornas

Cornas by Auguste Clape is a benchmark, traditionally made northern Rhône Syrah from very old vines on steep, granitic slopes in Cornas, blending multiple top lieux-dits to capture the appellation’s power and sauvage character. Vinified as whole-cluster Syrah and aged in old foudres with no new oak, it is deeply colored, intensely structured and distinctly savory, showing dark fruits, olive, smoke, meat and spice, and is famed for needing long cellaring to reveal its full complexity and elegance.
