Brooding dark cherry and blackberry dominate Antinori’s 2021 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Villa Cigliano, layered with hints of tobacco, cocoa, sweet spice and a touch of orange peel. The palate is plush and concentrated yet carried by vibrant acidity, with polished, fine-grained tannins that frame its rich, almost opulent fruit. A sumptuous, modern-styled Gran Selezione that already seduces in youth but clearly has the stuffing to age gracefully.
Bistecca alla fiorentina; pappardelle al cinghiale (wild boar ragu); aged Pecorino Toscano
