San Giusto a Rentennano

San Giusto a Rentennano is a historic estate in the southernmost part of the Chianti Classico zone, near Gaiole in Chianti in the province of Siena. The property, whose name has Etruscan origins, began life as a medieval Cistercian nunnery known as San Giusto alle Monache and was later fortified by the Florentines in 1204 as a border outpost facing Siena; its surviving battlements, walls and underground vaults now house the ageing cellars.
