Promontory is the third great Napa Valley project of H. William (Bill) Harlan, discovered as an isolated “hidden valley” in the Mayacamas foothills above Oakville during hikes in the early 1980s. Long courted in his imagination, the rugged, nearly 900-acre territory—much of it forested and straddling the border between Oakville and Yountville—was finally acquired in 2008.
