Prats & Symington was founded in 1999 as a joint venture between Bordeaux winemaker Bruno Prats, former owner of Château Cos d’Estournel, and the Symington family, one of the great names of the Douro. The project set out to apply top-flight Bordeaux expertise to the Douro’s best fruit, at a time when the region’s finest grapes were still mostly destined for Port.
