Numanthia

Bodega Numanthia is a modern icon of the Toro region in Castilla y León, founded in 1998 in the village of Valdefinjas. Acquired by luxury group LVMH in 2008, the estate was created to showcase the power and resilience of Tinta de Toro, a local Tempranillo clone rooted in the area since Roman times. The name pays tribute to the ancient Celtiberian city of Numancia, whose inhabitants famously chose death over surrender to Rome, a story mirrored in the estate’s emphasis on endurance and extreme conditions.
