Freemark Abbey

Freemark Abbey is a Napa Valley benchmark based between St. Helena and Calistoga, with roots going back to 1886 when trailblazing vintner Josephine Tychson established one of the valley’s earliest bonded wineries on the site. After Prohibition, the property was revived in 1939 and renamed “Freemark Abbey,” combining the names of owners Charles Freeman, Markquand Foster and Albert “Abbey” Ahern.
