Emmerich Knoll is one of the Wachau’s benchmark estates, based in the village of Unterloiben on the northern bank of the Danube. The Knoll family has cultivated vines here since 1825, and the winery is now led by third‑generation Emmerich Knoll III, a prominent voice for the region. The estate’s bottles are instantly recognizable by their ornate label depicting St. Urban, painted by Siegfried Stoitzner, a motif that has remained essentially unchanged since around 1960 and has become a visual icon of Austrian wine.…
