Clos i Terrasses

Clos i Terrasses is one of the defining names of modern Priorat, founded in 1989 by Swiss-born Daphne Glorian in the village of Gratallops. Persuaded by friends and fellow pioneers René Barbier and Álvaro Palacios, Glorian invested her savings in 17 slate terraces of old Garnacha vines on a steep, north-facing site called Escales, at a time when Priorat’s fine-wine potential was largely unproven.
