Chateau Montrose

Château Montrose is one of Bordeaux’s emblematic “super seconds,” a Deuxième Cru Classé in the 1855 classification and a benchmark estate of Saint-Estèphe. The property emerged in the early 19th century when Etienne Théodore Dumoulin planted vines on a heather-covered ridge above the Gironde estuary, a site whose pink flowers inspired the name “Montrose” (“pink hill”).
