Chateau Cos d'Estournel

Château Cos d’Estournel is one of the Médoc’s most emblematic estates, a Second Growth in the 1855 classification located on the gravelly “hill of pebbles” that gives Cos its name, at the southern edge of Saint-Estèphe facing Pauillac and Château Lafite Rothschild. Founded in 1811 by the visionary Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel, whose early success exporting to India earned him the nickname “the Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe,” the château is as famous for its exotic pagoda architecture and elephant motifs as for its wines.…
