Bodegas Contador

Bodegas Contador is one of the cult names of modern Rioja, founded in 1995 by winemaker and vine-grower Benjamín Romeo in his native village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The project began almost mythically in a centuries‑old cave beneath the local castle and later in his parents’ garage, where the first vintages of Contador were produced.
