Barón de Ley is a prominent Rioja producer headquartered in a restored 16th‑century Benedictine monastery on the Imas estate in Mendavia, on the Navarra side of DOCa Rioja. Founded in 1985 by a group of Rioja wine professionals led by Eduardo Santos‑Ruiz, the project was conceived in the spirit of the Médoc châteaux model: an estate‑based winery with extensive, carefully managed vineyards surrounding a historic building.
